We met this client at the BC Log home and Country living show, March 08 in Abbotsford, BC. The client was impressed with our idea of using a shipping container for our show booth, and asked if we could build him a power system in a container. No problems! His site had an old cabin built over a long weekend in the 50's. His plan is to build a new structure, and wanted the power system housed separately.

Through discussions with the client, we designed a system for his needs today, and room to expand in the future.

System Details:

• Xantrex XW4024 4 kW 24V 120/240 inverter
• Xantrex MPPT charge controller
• Automatic Generator Start module
• Yanmar 10 kW diesel generator
• 3 x 175 watt PV modules, wired at 72 VDC 300' away.
• 1800 Ah 2V Global-Yuasa industrial battery bank
• Galaxy Broadband Internet feed for remote system monitoring and to provide Internet access for client at site
• Remote Monitoring and Control system.
• Alarm system to alert homeowner of trespassers

This system was fabricated in our Victoria shop in a week, and then delivered to the customers site. Our install team was on-site for 5 days for the final installation and customer training.

Delivery was down a narrow, twisty, slippery road. With thanks to Owen's driving skills, the container was delivered unscathed to it's final position.
